What is Palates?
Pilates, developed by Joseph Pilates over 100 years ago, is a unique method of exercise that engages the mind and body to strengthen "the core" and uniformly develop all muscle group promote flexibility, strength, balance and increase body awareness.
What is "the core"?
"The Core" consists of all the muscles from the shoulders to the hips including the abdominals and back muscles. These muscles are responsible for stabilizing the body. All energy used for Pilates exercises come from the core and flows outward to the extremities creating a strong foundation to work from.
What is an Allegro Reformer?
The reformer is a piece of equipment that was ingeniously designed by Joseph Pilates to lengthen and strengthen the muscles of the body as a whole by using spring resistance. The reformer enables the participant to do just that "reform" and reshape the body.
